Surprisingly bad. Though kinda fun, it's ultimately ridiculous.

An inscrutable, but cool, mess of a movie.

This is one of those films that sweeps the Cannes awards and leaves your wondering if the audience was actually watching another film. There are so many problems with this movie it's hard to know where to begin. Ultimately, it left me angry due to the extreme irresponsibility of the main characters. We, the audience, are expected to not notice or care about this because the cinematography is nice. The boy is taken away from a loving family (the boy's aunt and uncle) by the idiot father who wants to reunite him with his mother that he horribly abused. The aunt and uncle are extremely distraught over this and are soon simply cut out of the film, never to be seen again! I think this is one of those European directed films that makes no sense to an American audience. Also, it's preposterously long.

A complete and utter turd. Arguably the worst movie I've ever seen.
