I haven’t read this book in over a decade but when I saw this movie on Hulu I was ecstatic. Beautiful Disaster is one of my favorite books and always will be, but this movie was disappointing. MANY things were left out such as the longevity of Abby and Parker. Also, how Travis was protective of Abby even before they became “official”. The character of Travis was smart and studied with Abby. They dumbed him down in the movie… They didn’t even bring up small things such as him smoking a cigarette or beating up the football player because of the rumors & how he spoke to Abby. I understand they couldn’t add every single thing from the book, that’s just unrealistic. But as I watched this movie it felt like I was watching a new rom-com I’ve never seen before. And don’t get me wrong, Dylan Sprouse played a great Travis for the script he was given. Let’s just say, I’m re-reading the book to help with the disappointment.
