This is one of those books that if you’re into literature you’ll love, but if you’re not, you’ll probably not love it. As you can see by my rating I fall into the former category.
I found Mary Shelly’s prose very beautiful. It painted a lovely picture.
Second of all, I found the symbolism of man vs monster very intriguing. There are a total of three narrators in this story. The main one is Victor Frankenstein, and the two others (The Monster, and Robert Walton) represent the two different sides of him (the human seeking knowledge, and the monster).
And finally I found this novel very emotional. I spent most of the novel being angry at Victor, feeling sorry for the monster, and being stressed about all the bad things that happened. (It’s important to note that the last two things made me cry).
All and all, I love this book (I think it might be my favorite book ever). I highly recommend you read it if you have the chance.
