Beyond disappointed, but if I had to describe the movie in one word- forgettable. Whoever wrote the script made Wonka out to be a completely average guy. I loved Johnny Depp making Willy Wonka out to be so strange, someone who is completely unrelatable. The storyline is so boring, it doesn't leave you wanting to figure out more about Wonka or his backstory. I wish they would have played off the old Willy Wonka backstory shown in the last movie, or at least something equally as interesting. Wonka growing up with an abusive dad that was a dentist is so much more interesting. I also was really hoping they would have spent more time in Loompa Land, and also made it more mysterious. The possibilities were endless with Loompa Land. Instead they showed a few seconds and It's simply a normal looking island. BORING!! The worst part is the singing. SO DREADFUL. Absolutely ruined any part that would have been enjoyable.
