Blue Velvet is an exploration of depravity. It is masterful in its setting and backdrop, an idealistic setting of small town USA. This of course clashes with the chief antagonist, Frank, whose personality is more like that of a pit viper than a man. Overall the movie leaves it all in the ring. It comes out bloody but it’s a winner!
