I’ve read all of the viewer reviews, and I think something has been lost in the final reading of Cairo’s Application essay. I think many people did not get what she was saying about her “greatest achievement.“ She grew past her childish hopes and pushed her teacher. Remember him, pulling the kudzu off his writing shack? He began writing again.

Quite disappointing actually. Just seemed like a long commercial for Nutella. I wouldn’t have even minded contemplating the nature of the spider, but the design was no better than a Muppet (apologies to all the cute Mupoets). Also, there was no sense of urgency, like conjecture that the impending contact with earth was projected to kill all life, or drasticslly interfere with all other space endeavors — then that would’ve set up some tension. Also, inconceivable that a woman would try to break up with her husband while he’s out in space. Just none of it worked toward a cohesive plot that engaged me in any way.

The inner world is so adeptly portrayed in the facial expressions of the two main characters. Impeccable acting. Take note especially of the ballet scenes- no dialogue, but worlds of emotion pass over these two men’s faces. Nuanced depth

I’ve been a fan for decades and really miss Alex. I think Aaron Rodgers is doing a great job but he needs to be just a little more excited or animated — but not go over the top! Maybe he needs to channel the way he felt when he played in the Super Bowl! Nevertheless, of all of the guest hosts, he’s my favorite so far.

I really appreciated the pacing of this as we follow the main character over a15 year span.The economy of scenes that are most important to the telling of the story is refreshing. All the fat is cut away and you see this American woman sculpted to the necessary bone. Great cast.

Ben Affleck is compelling in this intimate look at a man who has lost his child and his way. His understatement of emotion makes his character compelling and the storyline incredibly poignant.

I preferred the cleaner, cerebral plot of Get Out, but Us was entertaining. Once the threat got wider, going outside the family unit, I felt it lost the subtleness that made Get Out so intriguing. One interesting motif of note was the language ability indicator, drawing distinction between “man and beast.” Only the tethered Mother had language skill! The twist at the end clarified a lot of details. Very entertaining, but not better than Get Out. Hardcore horror fans will love it.
