as someone who used to be a HUGE fan of the broadway show and the book (which was my favourite adaptation so far), this movie is pretty disappointing. it's not unwatchable, but there were so many cuts to incredibly important parts of the story and removes the depth of most character besides evan. they only made this movie to "immortalize" ben platt's character, which is pretty obvious considering how they removed the only song that critiques his actions. unless you're a fan or have seen a previous adaptation of the story, the movie falls pretty flat.
