I still watch faithfully, hoping that some of the newer characters will find their roles. My thoughts...
- Killing off Ziva was a mistake. Should have found a way for her to come back (if she changed her mind).
- After Code De Pablo left the show (she was one of my fav's), DiNozzo's character lost his identity. It was time for Michael Weatherly to go.
- Why'd they kill off Mike Franks? He wasn't on often, but when he was, he brought out a different side of Gibbs.
- Emily was a great addition as Eleanor & has really grown into her role
- Jimmy's transition replacing Ducky was smooth. Love the way he channels Ducky throughout the show.
- Losing Abby might possibly be the show-stopper. They should've worked something out with Pauly Perrette to keep her on the show. Dionna Reasonover (Kasie) hasn't found her character's identity. Hopefully she will if there's a season 17.
- It's hard to get used to McGee being the Senior Agent. Part of his charm was his insecurity, & how Tony & Ziva played to it. He's doing an okay job I guess, but it's not as good IMO.
NCIS has been through tough transitions before. I thought the show would tank after Season 11 (when De Pablo left the show). When Weatherly left I was SURE that was it, but the show endured). There were a couple of seasons where they tried to fill the gaps by throwing in WAY too many new characters, but the show made it through.
All in all... I'm still watching, and will probably watch until they call it quits. It's still better than most shows on TV.
