Went to this movie with absolutely no preconceived notions. I can see the artistic merit, but it felt like a Scandinavian drug trip. Now, I love artsy films. I have never seen any Viking show on Netflix. I am not a huge Marvel fan. I was an open mind who disliked this film. It was too long, with no connection to the characters or their motivations. The acting was as dull as the plot was predictable. I had hoped at least for a morality tale, but alas just at its heart a generic revenge story ( a very plodding revenge tale). Add some witchy bits and you have the Northman. The witchy bits actually made the story more comedy than epic drama. Not worth it.
