Hmm... the book starts off well, but halfway through the book, i figured out the two plot twists the author tried to bring in. There weren't much of a twist though. You dont get attached to any character, you dont feel sorry for them. In graphical terms 📈 , it was a flat line. I was hoping for a major mind blowing moment in the end. But unfortunately, nothing. Can be enjoyed by "teenage" readers, its an OK kinda book which will leave u feeling disappointedfor sure. If you have got nothing better to read, then read this book. It's a time-pass kinda book.
1½ half stars.
Spoilers ahead:-
A few points that really bothered me-
No back story for either derek or his relationship with Richard.
Nothing about Richard's dark past which was mentioned so enthusiastically in one of the ending chapters.
Cynthia and Graham were literally the unnecessary characters, there was no reason for the "Cynthia and Richards affair" twist to be included in the plot. Made absolutely no sense. Seems the author was trying to use Cynthia character in some way or another.
Not much details about Anne's relationship with her father. Just a line or two considering she has certain episodes caused by the trauma of losing her father. More details were needed.
Who kept Cora- just a line about the person who had Cora. What rubbish!
Useless detectives.
A very childish plot. Probably would have enjoyed reading it if I was a teenager.
