This is a feel good rom-com for sure. The premise is somewhat unbelievable but explained well.
The cast does a great job!! Everyone in the film was solid.
Special props, however, go out to John Bradly. He played a critical role in the film and did a great job. He is the manager you want, smart, loyal, honest. Played it perfectly.
Huge high-five to JLo...she has matured as an artist, all around. This was an academy award performance by her IMHO. Being a rom-com little discussion will be made of how good she is. Although it does seem to be about her real life so she kind of fits the role. JLo has also matured as a singer. Her voice was spot on and the lyrics of her songs more philosophical than her typical love/party/dance numbers. The nod by the piano player at the end of "On My Way" kinda tells you all you need to know...The turn, the nod and the look of astonishing approval by him...sums up her vocals in the movie. Brought a tear to my eye. The scenes of mind that I believe were done best by her: the speech before the marriage...you almost feel her pain she delivers so well. The scene where they are on Fallon...explaining she didn't write the song for Bastion...again you could feel it...the director set this up perfectly with the chat by the microphone girl. The broken window scene was cute and is a close third.
Highly suggest watching this with your main squeeze. It is a good watch for a couple. Bring a box of tissues...I have seen it a few times and "On My Way" still gets me.
