I had a really difficult time getting through this album the first time. As someone who has dealt with my own mental health issues and having lost so many from the struggle, I had to take several breaks. It was refreshing to have an iconic artist who had made me feel the best and strongest emotions through their music that could portray all the true pain, sadness, and constant shifting of the soul during a perilous time. Not only singing about such difficult topic matters but putting his whole soul on display, the good, bad, and the ugly for the world to recognize. I have been a fan since the early 2000’s. He’s made me smile, laugh, cry, and it was all so real. My one wish in this world would be to see him perform live one day, the number one item in my bucket list. I can’t praise him enough for showing the real him and not what would bring him the most royalties, a true artist.
