Just imagine if Palin had visited the landmark Tinubu Square on Lagos Island, named after Efunroye Tinubu, a notorious and much feared 19th century Yoruba slave trader. An imposing statue was erected in her honour there. Her slave trading was prolific during that period with her activities stretching into the Yoruba hinterlands. She resisted all attempts to curtail her slave trading activities and even plotted to assassinate the British consul there. The irony would have been mind blowing.
