This book was just a rough read. I had to read it for school, and it was really hard to get through because of how insane it is. The author does not do nearly enough to explain how and why the bone marrow is so important to the "recruiters". We also get very little backstory as to how the world has come to this point, and why nobody can dream anymore. If you are going to make a story far fetched, at least do a good job explaining how it has become this way.
Normally, detail in stories is only a positive, but in this book it is a negative. The author goes waaaaaay too far into detail on the littlest things that do not really matter to the reader. I wish she went into detail on the major themes. For example, how our world gets to this point lol.
Finally, the ending is just bad. It feels like the author was just trying to get there as fast as she could, like I was when reading it. Although the ending is somewhat rewarding to the group of Indigenous people, they are nowhere near accomplishing their goal at the end of the story. Overall, I can confidently say it is the worst book I have read so far in my life.
