If a movie showed Hillary Clinton being told in advance about the attacks on Benghazi while she was having sex with a young male aide, and she responded, "I am busy right now, remind me later," it would be described as reprehensible to make up such assumptions and present them as facts. Vice is a movie made by people with as little respect for truth as Trump. SNL is a satirical sketch based production with no claims of a relationship to facts. This movie, while clearly practicing satire in the performances, features many of the most serious events in recent USA history, including 9/11 and the wars in Iraq but it has made up facts about the people in charge and what they were trying to do. Shelley Long could play Hillary Clinton in the revenge satire.

Season 1 was the most entertaining. The mix of drama and silliness is delightful. In the following seasons, the writing and performances are more soapy ("grinding" them out). The show is still fun, but not binge worthy. Also, if I compare to real life, the big fish is not the target when they can sacrifice a little guy to appease the powers that be.

I watched about thirty minutes before turning to Star Trek. It is vapid and obsequious. Most glaringly, if rewriting history to make PoC equal in social status to the highest ranks of 19th century England, at least make those characters interesting. I will revise this review If there is any substance at all to this praised series but something will need to get my attention while it plays in the background while I play stupid video games. Race is a reality: to ignore it while casting some Black actors in a story about aristocracy in a class structured society is an intriguing idea, but the few minutes I watched THIS story really felt creepy.

This one is for a hungry brain. Yiddish with English subtitles so good for learning Hebrew with Audible book lessons. So far, really serious story about a girl facing the hard realities of young adulthood and dreams breaking.

The beginning is awkward but it comes together.

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is a fictional Charles Manson that actually succeeds in achieving the alleged aspirations of the real Manson. A complex man who had a twisted childhood and grows up to be a vile terrorist. Phoenix gives a complex, intense and dark realism to this movie's high drama.

This series stands well next to classics like Love Story and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Ana Taylor Joy is the new Audrey Hepburn. The beautiful detail in the acting and story give depth I have enjoyed in the best novels but never before in movies and TV. All the actors and the whole thing.

After watching Steve Carell in Space Force, I started binging The Office. While I am wondering when and where Carell will have his brains sucked out, I am happy with S2 E17 (until I get to see that more strange magic). No spoilers. Just watch.

The beginning and middle seemed quite like a throw away, as they say in show biz, but the ending made up for it. For most of it, it was as if a.i. programs directed the thing. The story was so generic, derivative and like a cheat. It had no spirit, but then they tied a sublime bow with the climax and end. Really, the last thirty minutes had all the originality that one would expect from the creators. It was like it had a different writer than the rest of it.

This show made me laugh harder than most things on tv. I most often smile with an inner laugh - at irony. This thing does bald humour from imaginative angles. It is a train wreck in every funny way. Not much irony. I started giggling at work, like a meth-head, while remembering one sequence. That is a rare thing for me, to giggle involuntarily. 🤔 I sort of chortle like Ernie from Sesame Street.
