This film makes no apologies regarding the obvious borrowing of "ALIEN" inspired intellectual property....from the opening interior shot of deserted passageways of a deep sea oil rig (The Abyss, anyone?) with crew in obvious slumber-mode to the cute little chest-burster on steroids from 20,000 leagues under the sea, this film does manage to steer somewhat away from being a total plagarism. The only really annoying aspect of film is the presence of the utterly devoid of talent T.J. Miller. If this "stand up comedian" who ISN'T funny on stage can somehow parlay that poor excuse for comedy into a fledgling HBO series cast regular and movie career, I've been wasting my time being to self concious to go up on stage and do it myself cuz I KNOW I AM funny and Hollywood's where I want to be anyway. Enjoy the film. Leave the Miller. 2 & 1/2 stars.
