This is a great post second world war holocaust utopian book where the idea of continuing representation of people is a given. DNA, harvesting the ocean, new forms of transportation, new ways of thinking and working. In 2022 though, we realise that technology, science, art, education, means very little if it's just about replicating self serving and questionable elites. If it only means my knowledge is your harm, my control is your exclusion and objectification, my profit is only on the basis that I accept that you will be underserved and exploited until the end of your days. The relation between the landlord and how the economy has been set to work at every level needs to be transformed. The buildings we work in, walk through every day need to register our humanity: in the 21st century news is art and art is news. We should see our neighbourhoods on the walls of the buildings we patronise. They're ours. That old song of a post modern self serving feudal elite, the sounds of a colonial company version of what the 21st century is limits the world, limits collaboration, partnership, innovation and co-operation. It is a poisonous silence that we all wrestle with every day (as well as very, very boring). The World of Tomorrow loves innovation from the ground: transformation of what's possible through growing and nurturing people and the local environments. Local jobs, businesses can evolve and transform those exploitative dominate and supply chains that noone knows how to control. We need to say underrepresentation of people's lives in education, health, infrastructure, economy, culture, is a massive crime. A big sin if you like against tomorrow. We need jobs, homes, innovation in every neighbourhood and to move on from the old class, race, gender, disability segmentation that limits what everyone is capable of. The World of Tomorrow is about the neighbourhood, the region, it's the national, is across borders. We need to use the data, the insights, the creativity we all have to make all ground fertile, all people feel capable, intelligent, skilled and useful......forever.......!

Exceptional and timely to re-read. Hooray for good people who believe we can live better, richer, smaller lives that are, nonetheless, interconnected.
