The few few minutes of this film shows a abused wife getting hit and then beaten up by her husband. You be quite right into thinking it’s another film about people with no money or having very little of it. It’s a decent enough film if not some what depressing. It’s always rather sad when young children are involved. It’s very similar to Ken Loach working class and women getting abused by boyfriends and husbands, as l have mentioned before. The acting is first class with all the parts being well thought out. Must give the actress a mention who played the lead role Clare Dunne who not any acted in the film but also wrote the story. A very good film but sadly it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. Certainly worth a visit to the pictures, go see it on the big screen. You won’t be disappointed believe me. I personally would give six stars if l could!!

Watching this film will tell that the acting isn’t up to the modern standard, It’s is a good if rather dated film. The main lead is by an rather unknown actor John Paul. It does star Judy Geeson who was pretty well known during the1970’s. Other than that it’s a slow if not predictable film. One point going for it it has a feel of an Hammer film. It’s also has a feel of the film The Wicker Man, but without the tense, yes it’s set on an lsland. Originally filmed in Cornwall. I personally liked the film but am a film buff and will usually watch some good films and one or two bad films. Not as good as the BBC television series. Stay with it though. Hope this review helps deciding if it’s worth a watch.
