This season is my favorite True Detective. Night Country can be watched as a standalone. No need to watch Kevin McCarthy chain-smoking. Don't get me wrong, I love all four seasons, especially #2. Night Country is a must for Jody Foster fans. Set in Alaska it is glimpse into the lives of the original peoples of North America. Every day is a clash between the stresses of modern living and the pull of the ancient. Kali Reis is awesome. I would like to see a spin-off with Detective Navarro.
