This movie took too long to develop the narrative thread, which turned out to be compelling. Four writing credits suggest trouble with the script. It careened from one crisis to another without any of the wry, playful moments we find in all the great Bond movies. How many car chases do we need to understand how serious the threats are Bond is dealing with? That said, this was a good way for Daniel Craig to say goodbye to the Bond character. Anyone who saw him in "Knives Out" knows he has range and will be giving us more memorable moments in the future, much like Matt Damon has after Jason Bourne. The story in this film is good. It should have been the impetus for all the scenes, but instead we toggled back and forth between the main story line and purely visual tropes from action movies.
