Disclosure: 42 yr old female, that's right born in 1977, and I LOVED this film... Growing up with Star Wars (movies, not comics), I never understood the Jedi philosophy. Luke really wasn't the bada$$ to me like Han Solo, who drove the ship, had the best side kick, shot on point, was funny as heck, got the ladies, and had the BEST of luck. I mean "knights," "force," and "religion?" In Space? Weird concepts to a heartland kid. But, I was FINALLY forced aware in the Phantom Menace. I loved the movie if only for showing me the "force." But then it finally had a plot about anything than a "deathstar." It had new characters, planets, real Jedi mind tricks and an awesome race scene with an 8 yr old! I had no preconceived notions going into this movie, so dang! Did it deliver? Yes! If you like action and a little comedy with your sci-fi, you will not mind this movie and might even learn some Star wars info. Ps. Jar jar binks is a little annoying, but made for kids. So think about your criticisms, you old kids who loved C3-PO.
