I was really disappointed with the ending. Which showed how a person felt he must do the right thing to the detriment of the child.
Some people don't deserve parenthood.
It was a beautiful, thoughtful film otherwise and superb acting all around.
It has left me with a real sadness, i'd say that proves what an excellent job Ben Affleck achieved with this thought provoking movie.

What a load of pretentious, wordy tripe..This book leads nowhere it is a master class in saying lots and achieving nothing.
Far too many villagers so you actually end up not caring about any of them.
And not enough suspense to make you care about finding out what happened to the young girl.
