Awful movie. Why Edith Piaf? Why? It was almost 1800 couldn't you find music of that époque?. I thought Joaquín Phoenix was a guarantee of good movies. It was Slow, stupid in it's sense of humor, long and boring. It was like a Mexican telenovela. It shows more of Napoleon's personal life than his really interesting life, his achievements, his thinking as an leader, the important part of his life. If you like historical movies and you try to enjoy a master piece of history put all together in a movie and learn more about or if you want to picture how would it be to watch him alive, don't watch this. If you like "historical" love stories meh, perhaps you could wast time of your life watching this thing. Dressing and locations were good though.
