Here I am on a Monday at 1:23pm May 20th 2024. I have finished reading the book after on and off reading for two days (started May 18) I honestly had experienced many different emotions while reading this book. This book made me feel all the feelings that exist in this world. To the point that I cried. I can’t believe that I am angry that the author, Colleen Hoover, separated Ryle and Lily at the end. All I can think is that people always make mistake, a lot of times it’s the same mistakes. But.. but.. I wouldn’t leave because Ryle have shown how much he loves Lily. I don’t know why I feel so angry and sad that Lily didn’t forgive Ryle once more. I guess until the part of the book where Lily had just given birth, choosing divorce. She started asking him questions like what would he do if their child ask him what their child should do if she’s in the same situation as Lily (getting abused by her lover). It hits me and I started to cry so badly. I have learnt a lesson from this book that we should never ever forgive any type of abuse. Hitting is a form of physical abuse, cheating is a form of emotional abuse. I can’t stop thinking of this book.
Anyway, let’s end in a positive note something that made me cry in a happy and cringed cry is.. At the end of the book..she bumps into Atlas…Lily had just divorced and had a child and 11 months later she casually bumps into Atlas and tells him she’s ready..? After not seeing each other for let’s see… Atlas took her to hospital to get stitches. She found out same time she was six weeks pregnant. So 1 and a half month. Then they said goodbye and hadn’t seen each other ever since. She gave birth at 9months pregnant. 11 months after, Emmy is obviously 11 months. So that would mean they haven’t seen each other for 1.6 years. Then he sees her, says bye then Lily ran back to him.. tells him she’s ready.. girl ready for what?? he grabs her to kiss her… on her collarbone after not seeing each other for 1.6 years... Hang on girl and boy, that’s too fast!!!!
