All this budget and yet the writing is still horrendous. Maybe it was intended that way idk. It's unecessarily misogynistic at the times and it comes off as tacky and cringy in places too. I don't really think it's good enough that it has to be 3+ hours long. Though, it's refreshing to see 'taboo' subjects being shown more freely; personally it's my first time with bollywood films seeing topics like s*x being insinuated and talked about so naturally - the confidence in tye writing is good to see but overall, it's still bad and ruins the potential this film could've had. The film could be considered a step in indian cinema but it's not really a great one; there are other films that could benefit more from the international.
Note: while writing the review, i hadn't finished all of the film, idc, the review is still warranted regardless of me seeing all of the film or not. Anyways as I'm continuing watching the film, the writing just keeps getting more and more misogynistic and unnecessary. It's actually worse than i previously thought. Maybe the intention was to depict the mc as 'gone mad' and whatever but i dont think that's an excuse to be that misogynistic and wierd. Perhaps it's meant to be unironic and a shade to men who actually think this way or something, but it doesn't come off that way. If that was their intended goal, it was unsuccessful and instead, just seems like the misogynistic script was written like this on purpose.
