I am shocked that this movie received nominations for the script and even best picture. It's poorly written, the performances were adequate, given the script, but in general this film wouldn't stand a chance if there were better competition in the movies this year. The heroine of the film becomes tedious and her story, unrealistic. There was nothing to grab on to in this movie except the muddied and messed up feminist political message. I've heard that message. It's more than a little bit familiar and once again tedious. What has happened to creativity in the film industry? It's so sad to lose quality cinema at the same time we're losing so many other things in our culture. Ah well. At least there is a lot of good cinema from the past, and I am grateful for that.
