This movie may be one of the worst movie scripts and over-acted thrillers ever made. The plot is so disjointed and open ended that I shook my head throughout this 2 1/2 hour journey to nowhere. Julia Roberts, whom I love, was so micro directed that it was painful to watch. The kids are just weird. The owners of the house are a disaster and the girl is annoying beyond belief. Kevin Bacon has a small part which was the best 8 minutes of this mess. The movie does have a real message for sure, but the direction and acting are so poorly done that it's cringe worthy - even if we should heed its warnings.

I saw the first two episodes of Emergence and I am hooked big time! The cast is so relatable and normal which makes Piper, the mysterious young girl, even more of an enigma.
The fact that Plum Island is mentioned early on makes for exciting conspiracies about the source of the weird happenings in the Long Island community.
Very exciting and looking forward to a great first season of Emergence!
