I don’t know if this show wanted to catch Game of Thrones fans with the graphic violence and gore. The sad thing is that they failed at it.
I was interested to see how they are going to take on a Lady of the Lake origin story but the storyline seems so compressed. The events were really happening fast with no time for character development.
Nimue was such a poorly written character. She’s your average, one-dimensional YA protagonist who’s strong and independent, edgy but her recklessness is really annoying. What’s worse is that, I can’t see any character development.
I was close to giving up on this show at episode 6 because the protagonists can’t seem to catch a break. But, I managed to finish the whole series and I can’t believe that I’m saying this, I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next season.
This series could’ve been better if the writers put a solid foundation by concentrating on the world the story resides in first.
