There are definitely some cringy moments but I think it helps us to understand the deep emotional problems Oliver has. I think the whole movie is about the faults of people and the evil that can lurk in the shadows when you aren't paying attention. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and was not disappointed in this follow up to "Promising Young Woman". I will continue to watch Emerald Fennell movies as I have enjoyed the darkness and oddities she can portray in a way that's oddly, relatable? Not a movie for those who aren't comfortable with impasse topics and behaviors.
