Rosemary’s Baby meets Sister Act.

For their senior seminar final project, 2 film students write and perform an exhausting, overly-complicated script focusing on a supposedly psychologically-scarred doughboy, set to inherit his dead father’s hotel empire, interacting with an “evil genius”dominatrix escort in pre-scripted fetish sessions set in a hotel room (presumably owned by the male “client”). The student team is comprised of a sexy, throaty-voiced brunette and a Mediterranean-looking Everyman with fro-curls and a shadow beard. The plot device is a script devised to be a feminist-empowering yarn with a twist ending final scene that reveals the truth: the film’s entire headache-inducing narrative has been a staged activity between two congenial characters who are, in fact, lovers in a monogamous relationship. The female lead acted fairly well, but there was a definite lack of chemistry between the two characters. Hope they got a C on the project and passed, because that’s about all it was worth.
