Absolutely brilliant the way different social and religious concepts are merged! LaKeith Stanfield is at the top of his game and does a 1st class performance portraying the emotional gradations and growth of Clarence. And, while most American audience members get thrown off by wanting to fit the movie into a classification of being either a "black movie" or a period religious movie in which they believe that people of color did not exist, it has to be appreciated as a vehicle for that reflects the timelessness of our own morality. Jeymes Samuel is a gifted director!
