A poorly written book with lots of ideas, unremarkably clear about how they are linked, force fitted together. The author's initial argument appears to suggest an appreciation for minimalism as a concept, but he quickly started making generalisations one-fifth into the book and accusations of some minimalists and their work, providing a less than balanced view of their motivation. He further described art and music and their history, remotely associated with minimalism, for the large part of the book, which was a challenge to read. It was muddling in writing, to say the least, and the mention of Asian concepts and philosophy were at best confusing and depth-less.
