Saw this tonight in Perth, Western Australia. Having seen more than ten of these shows previously on several continents and then came Corteo....was really looking forward to it, but left stunned at how low quality it was. The storyline was weird and hard to follow the jumping from English to French to Ialian and a bit of Spanish was bad enough, but the weak comedy to tie the individual acrobatic acts together was just plain awful. Then the underwhelmingly small stage where the audience sat on 180° opposite sides had the performers trying to do their stuff to two separate audiences and failing miserably to focus on either. Don't know whose daft idea that was, but it didn't work. This show wasn't cheap at 180 bucks a pop. It was a seriously pared down unspectacular complete waste of money. We managed to get through to the intermission and went home as couldn't sit through another hour of this drivel. Thats is done with Cirque if this is their new direction.
