Challenging to guess the artists Hope is talking about because the names are fictitious. (wish there was a list of who's who). But...if you know the Expressionist crowd from the 40's you can I loved the voice and observations of an older woman who was an active participant in the "scene" which was difficult for a woman artist in a man's world, all the way down to the critics, galleries, and the role and expectations of the wives of artists by husbands and society, Some ideas are quite dated, while some unfortunately remain unchanged.
