love this as a kid, still love it now

This is by far my favorite movie out of the Shrek franchise. Not only is the animation well done, but this movie lets you see the huge character development that Shrek has taken. The dialogue for the movie was astounding (especially during the end of the movie) and the whole tone of the movie is more serious because the people who watched the first movie have already become more mature than before, letting the animators and writers explore having sadder moments in the film. This film left us happy, emotional, and satisfied by giving us a nice closure to the franchise.
