The first fantastic beasts was a novel attempt at a prequel. Unfortunately this movie(&previous movie) is a weak plot built around a mere statement about Albus and a battle with a previous dark wizard, Grindawald, in the original potter series. It does not provide any real connection to the harry potter series. If I have to suffer through more weak plots/stories in future movies to get to a connection with harry potter, I'll pass and wait till it is free through streaming. It is no suprise this movie was available for streaming at the start.
