First class movie that successfully defies its preposterous storyline. HG Wells goes forward in time to 1979 San Francisco to catch Jack the Ripper, who has escaped Victorian London using Wells' time machine. For anyone who's stayed at the Hyatt Regency, it's fun recognizing shots, the actors are great and it keeps the action and suspense to the end.

Slightly overhyped because of the wonderful visuals and acting in the film, Stone and Thompson are beyond great, the film design wonderful. The story definitely needed more work in development and the film runtime is too long.
