There is no light nor joy in any second of this lumbering drama. It is a depressing watch and very hard to stay attentive to the slow moving scenes. Lots of meaningful glances from the lead female actress from depressing viewpoints. I haven’t seen any of Wale’s purported beauty - just run down council estates where everyone seems to be suffering some sort of mental issue, alcoholism, drug issues, murderous thoughts, psychotic illness, cancer, etc… a wholly depressing programme to try and be immersed in. I found myself constantly putting the TV on ~Pause and finding things to do (for a break from monotony). The Police do not appear to be doing much detective work but have ‘lightbulb moments’ which you pray will solve the crime so you can switch the TV off..however, for some odd reason, there is something compelling making me stay to the end . Maybe self reward for having survived the experience of watching this drama?
