If I could give this movie a 0/10 I would. The flashbacks made no sense. The poor little brother character with the minimal lines he got was just saddening. The girlfriend flashing her scars and also cutting the main girl with no warning was triggering. The horrible father shouting “kill the witch” is not something the ENTIRETY of America has already seen (and also probably lived), but was also SO demeaning to people who practice witchcraft now. This movie was made in 2021, you’d think it wouldn’t be nearly as tone-deaf as it is but here we are. The placement of the bathroom (?)/room they were stuck in made no sense. The random dog demon thing making a single appearance? The mother going outside and returning covered in blood, only after the cliche dead-girlfriend-shows-up-and-possesses-main-girl trope? WHAT WAS THIS MOVIE??? Bad.
