First of all, there's too much thrown at the audience altogether. Most of the main characters are extremely unlikeable, and even the final twist isn't that jaw dropping. It IS an original script so I will give them that but otherwise there's almost nothing about this film that was enjoyable. For quite some time I was enjoying the characters become increasingly menacing but the ending ruined it all for me. Shelby's boyfriend is a despicable loser, doesn't mean he deserves a life sentence for it. And idk if we're supposed to like Shelby or what but for me she was an absolute psychopath, refusing to give up Nicky's body, being completely okay with her boyfriend receiving the punishment for a crime he didn't even commit. When almost all of the main characters are THIS unlikeable, its quite difficult to enjoy the plot of a movie.

I watched it seeing an overwhelming positive reviews but it was majorly disappointing, the book might be better so I will not comment on that. Basically the protagonist is a young girl who goes out to solve the murder of a popular girl of the same town. Thing is though, I do not see why anyone would just blurt out information to this non-intimidating schoolgirl who does not have a shred of evidence against anybody. It felt forced and unrealistic to think that you could just decide to solve a famously unsolved case WHILE having to do schoolwork and preparing to go to college. If maybe the protagonist was someone who's older and had more experience, this series would be believable.

The bar Chhorii 1 set was too high that its own sequel could not nearly meet that level. The "scary" scenes were outright ridiculous and made me chuckle. The ending was terrible. Also, if you're making a movie about ridiculous and harmful superstitions that people perform in the name of "rituals", its best not to introduce a scary pre-historic monster that reaffirms people's beliefs in those said rituals instead of educating them.
