The film is not that good as a sequel to the 1988 original as the problems start with the lack of crudeness in which the character of Beetlejuice had which was the charm of that character, just like Ghostbusters Frozen Empire the film it lacked in comedy timing also the music did not seem to be on cue for most of the scenes. The start of the film dragged on a bit but the real funny stuff started nearly half way into the movie even towards the end but was totally predictable, the possession scene was not as great and nowhere near as funny as the Banana Boat Song, then we have new characters that are blatantly bland with little or no characterisation the Ortega actress dull boring and bland also the boy ghost just no character development. The only best thing about the film is the fact that Michael Keaton came back to reprise his role as Beetlejuice but the film needed more of him in it with his menace.
