Such a wholesome film, filled with quirky characters and beautifully made sets. I remember watching moulin rouge as part of drama classes in high school, and this movie perfectly encapsulates those same emotions. Very few movies these days will grab your attention and reward you for it, this movie does. The cinematography has you paying attention to more than just the words being spoken, you look at how the characters deliver their lines, the effect the background has on the scene, and the fact that everything you see on the screen is there for a reason. I can see this being used in drama and English classes in the future as a movie to analyse, discuss, and to learn from. This is definitely not a movie that everyone will love, but those who do will most likely rank it highly, as it is just a pure experience for someone to enjoy.
