This book is an incredibly detailed, well written and absolutely brilliant telling of the history of Texas. The central thesis of race as a type of class and settler colonialism resting on class collaboration is incredibly compelling as well as disturbing. This book is an unflinching analysis of history shaping the present state of Texas and the United State. I would recommend this book to friends and family without a doubt.
