The map gets boring and with a new map (Siptah) being added, there is no 'portal' or means to travel between the two maps.. Another negative is the small player base per server. Official servers are limited to 40 players. There are also plenty of bugs and in-balances, but the game overall is one of the best released in the last decade.
The lighting in the game is nothing short of impressive, the gameplay control is fun and the survival aspect doesn't get old, it's one of the best things about the game, going from caveman to king. In the middle of all this, is the building system which lets you build your own shack, or your own castle. Sadly, the pvp in-balance will allow a small clan to take down what took you months to build in a day, while on a PVE server you can't even steal another mans fish.. The game also suffers from cheaters. Once they plague a server, it pretty much kills it.
With all that being said, despite it's shortcomings, Conan Exiles is certainly worth the full retail price though. You'll get enjoyment out of it whichever way you chose to play it pvp or pve, private server or even solo play. Just be mindful of the downsides.
