Normal People gets 1 extra star just for how great the actors are despite being written as completely flat. These characters have absolutely no depth. We know nearly nothing about them. Connell’s mom is a cleaner and Marianne’s family sucks. Oh, and they both like to read and have sex… There is just something missing.
It seems the message the writer is trying to get across is that love equals sex because the characters seem to only be around each other when they want to have sex or are breaking up. I was enjoying the first few episodes until later, every episode seemed to have a 15 minute sex scene. Please! Give us something else.
I wish I could see the beauty that all of the other reviewers see but I just don’t seem to get it.
