Okay…. I love Jensen Ackles projects, so naturally I was excited for him voicing as Batman. Especially since he voiced Jason Todd in the redhood animated movie years back. But it just wasn’t good. He doesn’t have the Batman voice. I think he was trying to get Batman’s deep stoic like voice and it just came out absolutely bad. I usually don’t leave such harsh reviews but it genuinely disappointed me. So fair warning for Ackles fans. If you are watching the movie for him beware.

This film is honestly one of the best horror films I’ve seen in a while. Some of the main points I will give credit on is the actors acting, especially given their ages. Some prime examples of this would be Gwens acting when her father was hitting her with a belt or Finneys sobs after he was going to give up hope on getting out of the basement. The fight scenes are greatly choreographed and carried through. Not to mention the actor actually look the age of their characters which is a rare thing in Hollywood nowadays. But the reason I am giving in 4/5 stars is because I feel like they could’ve developed The Grabbers back story a lot better. It would’ve been nice to see even just a 5 minute clip of his background. All we know for sure is that he has a brother who seems normal(ish). I would’ve liked to understand why he was kidnapping these kids. Did he maybe have a son who died? Was his father abusive and that’s why he’s so caught up on the naughty boy game? I mean even just subtle hits would’ve been nice. Like pictures on a wall or a few sentences here and there that the audience could infer would’ve been nice. But overall it was a enjoying moving that kept me on my heel, with my heart racing. Making me guess what was going to happen next.
