After reading the book which was tremendous and left me with mixed emotions from joyful, hurtful and to plainly sobbing at the end. The book can be related to everyday life for some folk and it hit hard for me as well. I finished this book in a day and half and then rushed to see the movie.
Now, yes few movies follow the books, but I was eager to see if it would. Some parts followed and some not so much. I do wish the family of kya was shown more in depth as well as the middle age, but that's alright. As a man in his late 30's I found not only in the book and movie parts hard to watch and it made me ashamed that this type of stuff happens on a daily basis to some people. For that I am truly sorry.
In depth about love and affection as well as finding someone for connection is true in the book and movie, the actors and actresses did a fantastic job and kya was portrayed well as well as tate. I do wish the film had started off in the beginning like the book and not gone back and forth like in the film. Yes some people will critique the movie for not following the book and will give it a low score, but that is their own personal opinion. Your opinion may be the same or it may be completely different, and that's fine. But you decided.
I'll most certainly re read this book as I personally think this is one of the greatest books I have read in my life thus far and will most likely get then film when it comes able to purchase.
Don't let other people steer you clear from this film based on their views. It's your decision.
(I think that's what Kya might think)
