PLEASE dont waste your money on this.
What made the first Meg movie good was the relatability the audience had with the people first encountering the megalodon. The unknown drove the suspense home, and we were right there with the characters with a sense of helplessness. In Meg 1, that was the only major sci-fi pull the movie made, and it was good!
Which is exactly why the sequel where everyone knows everything about the Megalodon (which dont even appear as a villain until the second half) takes away from the suspense of the first movie. Too many useless characters, no emotional attachment to anyone, had me yawning in the middle of the movie, and we're at a time where CGI isnt enough to bring a movie home.
Also rode the trope of "token black guy" way too hard with Page Kennedy. Im sure hes capable of more in depth roles but here hes just someone that says "Hell yeah! Get some!" or whatever stereotypical ghetto phrase these writers put in the first draft of the script. ALSO I know that the god that is jason statham is invincible in movies like these so theres literally NO SUSPENSE.
