This is a gripping sci-fi action film. No, it's not The Godfather or 2001: a space odyssey or Alien or any of the truly greats. Ok, it's a bit derivative and sentimental in places. Who cares (apart from snotty, metro-grooved film critics obvs). The hive swarm creatures, particularly, are fantastic (in every sense of the word). And, most of the acting and cast not far behind. It even manages to convincingly reference global heating and the climate crisis without any eco-preaching - a feat in itself. So, IMO, take the night off, pop some brewskis and enjoy (watching Chris Pratt before he became a prat for bulldozing an Hollywood modernist architectural masterpiece, along with its landscaped grounds).
