A long, drawn out movie to reach the conclusion. Just enough to hold interest, but on the whole a bit boring. I found the story told from each characters viewpoint did not hold adequate merit to be different enough that it held my attention. The dual only happened in the last 30 minutes but the movie is 2h34min long. Excellent cast so expected better.
The attention to detail was fantastic though. The scenery, the clothing, the horses and the castles really gave the observer a strong sense of the times and the struggles. And of course the whole issue of honour which in some ways can be reflected in society today (do we have it? How is it held? Etc. Also the limited medical knowledge was accurate. Overall, in my opinion this was a well researched and well executed film but was too long. (I'm no movie critic.... only sharing my experience).
